If I want to be extra safe, is it a smart idea to wear 2 condoms?

The reason sex educators say that you shouldn’t use two condoms is because latex rubbing against latex is a bad idea. The friction and heat greatly increases the risk of condom failure. If you want a great visual, blow up 2 balloons to maximum capacity and vigorously rub them together. Spoiler Alert, they’ll break.
There is no reason to use two condoms. If whatever you are trying to avoid can get through one condom, it can get through two. Unless you have made a medical breakthrough and discovered a virus, bacterium, or sperm cell that can teleport through a condom, but only one, then you should stick with one condom.
Since latex condoms are non-porous, meaning it has no pores, nothing can get through it, including microscopic spermatozoa, viruses, & bacterium.
One latex, polyurethane or polyisoprene condom will keep you safe and not pregnant. One lambskin condom will keep you not pregnant. Remember to use a new one every time you have sex.
